Dallen Can Walk!!!!!! Finally

Dallen just hasn't been that interested in walking. Ashton was 13 months when he started really walking, but he had been taking steps since he was 10 months. Dallen really didn't start even thinking about it until a few weeks ago. I didn't walk until I was 15 months and I kept telling him he needed to at least beat me. He only did that by 2 weeks. He is looking a little ragged because we went swimming earlier today, but I think that helped because he was standing and jumping in the water and having a blast. At first he took about 3 steps to his daddy and then he wouldn't do it again so we bribed him with a cookie which is what is all over his face. Then we had to get a sucker to get him to walk some more so we could get some proof. We are so proud of him. My babies are growing up.

Longhorn Days

This is the whole group at the Parade in Altamont. Ashton thought it was great. He would be happy if people were always throwing candy at him.
Ashton is such a little patriotic man. He had to have this flag when we were shopping the day before this and so we got it. This is when the Veterans were walking by with the flag. Isn't he adorable.
The kids got a little bored while waiting for the parade to come back the other direction, (Yes they turn around and come back.) So grandpa pulled Cooper, Ashton, and Dallen in the wagon.
These girls were prepared for when the little league float came back by.
They really didn't want to get wet.

This was Dallen during the auction before the fireworks. He found a good way to entertain himself. He is so funny.

Cancer Free Partee!

My awesome mom has been Cancer Free for 5 years now. What better way to celebrate than to have a wet and wild party at the park. A lot of friends and family were able to come and we are so grateful for that. I know that this party meant a lot to my mom. We had a blast. We played kickball with kiddie pools for bases and a slip and slide for home plate. Then we played water balloon dodge ball. And after that it was just a water and shaving cream fight. Everyone that attended got wet. Most of us were soaked. It was so much fun and the best part was that we got to celebrate with a wonderful brave woman that fought off that aweful thing called cancer. Your amazing mom. We love you!

Who doesn't love the sprinklers?

We were outside watering the lawn and Dallen crawled right over to where the sprinkler was hitting. I didn't think that he would stay there, but he loved it.
After Ashton saw how much fun Dallen was having he decided to try it out for himself. By the time we went inside they were both soaked.

Chocolate or Dirt?

So this little guy likes to get into lots of things. I thought these faces were pretty comparable. Can you tell which one is Dirt, ya I said dirt, and which one is chocolate?
Well it's pretty obvious. The top picture is a pic I had from a while ago when he had made a mess with a cookie. The bottom pic was at the family reunion. I sat him down so I could chase after Ashton. A few seconds later I turn around and this is what I see. He had a handful of dirt and he was shoving it into his mouth. It looks just like he has been eating a cookie or some chocolate cake.

Memory Tag

I got this from Mandy's blog. I thought it was fun so here it is.

Here are the rules:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! (Please remember that my mom will be reading this!)

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. I can't wait to see what people remember.

Happy 4th of July

We ended the day in the park in Panguitch watching the fireworks. Here are the boys safe in Daddy's arms. They were a little startled by the first fireworks of the night, Dallen's first ever. Dallen slept through last years. After a couple minutes they were okay. Ashton can't wait until the 24th celebration so he can see more fireworks.

We started the day at the kiddie parade, but mommy didn't have her camera. This is the Kiddie Races. Dallen was the only one in his race that had to have a helper. Its okay though because Aunt Jamie is really fast.
We tried and tried to get Asthon to get the concept of racing but,
all he wanted to do was run along side his cousin Olivia. Oh well maybe next year. I think they tied, but not for first.
Here is Daddy trying to teach Ashton and Olivia the concept of chasing rabbits. Luckily they didn't really get that either.

We had to wait a little while before the fireworks started so the boys passed the time by wrestling with Daddy. We had a really fun 4th of July. The kids loved all of the festivities.

Panguitch Balloon Festival 2008

Every year in the end of June they have a Balloon Festival in Panguitch. It is a really neat thing to see. I couldn't even come close to getting all of the balloons in a shot. This view is from the Cooper's back deck. The sun is in your eyes a little, but it is still beautiful. Every morning after this Ashton asked if we could go and see the balloons.
They all launch and some of them even fly over into town. This year we had one land right behind the Cooper's house. I didn't get a picture of that one.
On Saturday night they had a "night glow". They line up all the Balloons along the main street and they inflate them. When it gets dark the fire that they blow makes the glow. Everyone comes out and just walks up and down the street visiting with people and watching the balloons. It really is a lot of fun. Ashton and Dallen seemed to enjoy it. They weren't scared like some kids were.

This is one of the balloons glowing. It was hard to get a good picture because they only glow for a few seconds at a time. They are really pretty at night.

Bulkley Reunion

This year the Bulkley Reunion was held on June 27th and 28th. This was also the same weekend as the Balloon Festival in Panguitch, (highly recommended). We all met for dinner at Grandma Shirley's on Friday night and then spent the next morning in her backyard as well. We had a lot of fun. It was great to see all of the family that could make it. On Saturday morning they rented a big blow up slide that they put water down. It provided entertainment for kids of all ages.
Ashton was a little bit nervous about going down by himself. His Daddy was at the top of the slide in charge of the hose for most of the morning.
This is Livi and me "Aunt Jem" as she calls me, sometimes, going down the slide. She was a little nervous at first too, but later she went down by herself. You can't really see the look of shock on my face, but Jeff was soaking me with the hose.
When Jeff finally came down the kids soaked the slide so he would go extra fast. I don't know if the slide was ready for this kind of force.
This is Dallen with Grandma Shirley. He was loving and kissing her. It was so sweet. We had such a great time and can't wait for the next reunion.
