Memory Tag

I got this from Mandy's blog. I thought it was fun so here it is.

Here are the rules:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! (Please remember that my mom will be reading this!)

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. I can't wait to see what people remember.

Happy 4th of July

We ended the day in the park in Panguitch watching the fireworks. Here are the boys safe in Daddy's arms. They were a little startled by the first fireworks of the night, Dallen's first ever. Dallen slept through last years. After a couple minutes they were okay. Ashton can't wait until the 24th celebration so he can see more fireworks.

We started the day at the kiddie parade, but mommy didn't have her camera. This is the Kiddie Races. Dallen was the only one in his race that had to have a helper. Its okay though because Aunt Jamie is really fast.
We tried and tried to get Asthon to get the concept of racing but,
all he wanted to do was run along side his cousin Olivia. Oh well maybe next year. I think they tied, but not for first.
Here is Daddy trying to teach Ashton and Olivia the concept of chasing rabbits. Luckily they didn't really get that either.

We had to wait a little while before the fireworks started so the boys passed the time by wrestling with Daddy. We had a really fun 4th of July. The kids loved all of the festivities.

Panguitch Balloon Festival 2008

Every year in the end of June they have a Balloon Festival in Panguitch. It is a really neat thing to see. I couldn't even come close to getting all of the balloons in a shot. This view is from the Cooper's back deck. The sun is in your eyes a little, but it is still beautiful. Every morning after this Ashton asked if we could go and see the balloons.
They all launch and some of them even fly over into town. This year we had one land right behind the Cooper's house. I didn't get a picture of that one.
On Saturday night they had a "night glow". They line up all the Balloons along the main street and they inflate them. When it gets dark the fire that they blow makes the glow. Everyone comes out and just walks up and down the street visiting with people and watching the balloons. It really is a lot of fun. Ashton and Dallen seemed to enjoy it. They weren't scared like some kids were.

This is one of the balloons glowing. It was hard to get a good picture because they only glow for a few seconds at a time. They are really pretty at night.

Bulkley Reunion

This year the Bulkley Reunion was held on June 27th and 28th. This was also the same weekend as the Balloon Festival in Panguitch, (highly recommended). We all met for dinner at Grandma Shirley's on Friday night and then spent the next morning in her backyard as well. We had a lot of fun. It was great to see all of the family that could make it. On Saturday morning they rented a big blow up slide that they put water down. It provided entertainment for kids of all ages.
Ashton was a little bit nervous about going down by himself. His Daddy was at the top of the slide in charge of the hose for most of the morning.
This is Livi and me "Aunt Jem" as she calls me, sometimes, going down the slide. She was a little nervous at first too, but later she went down by herself. You can't really see the look of shock on my face, but Jeff was soaking me with the hose.
When Jeff finally came down the kids soaked the slide so he would go extra fast. I don't know if the slide was ready for this kind of force.
This is Dallen with Grandma Shirley. He was loving and kissing her. It was so sweet. We had such a great time and can't wait for the next reunion.

So Helpful...Sometimes

Ashton has been so helpful lately. He is so good at putting away his dirty clothes and putting away toys. He gets himself dressed most of the time. My favorite is putting his shoes on himself, that helps out a bunch.
Last Monday I was making him pick up all the blocks by himself because he dumped them all over the living room and I had asked him not too. So he was picking them up for a really long time in the afternoon, (you know, pick up a couple blocks, play, mom makes you come back and pick up some more.) well I was telling him to keep picking them up when I realized he had fallen asleep. After that I picked up the rest of the blocks.

Finally Mom got out the Pool

We were finally home when it was warm enough to get out the kiddie pool that Dallen got for his birthday. They loved it. We were in the pool for about an hour 3 days last week.
Ashton knows that this pool was for Dallen's birthday so when he was at the store with Jeff last week he saw a big pool. He thought that they should get the big pool for His birthday.
Dallen stayed in the pool the whole time except for once. He climbed out and then climbed back in. The only problem was that when he climbed in he went head first and dove in. I think it was a little scary and the wind started to blow so we went in right after that.
This was my birthday cake. Ashton made it and brought it to me. (I think someone is going to be really excited for their birthday in August.)
It's a big debate Wrestling v. Basketball. I think that basketball is winning in both boys. If they both like the same thing that will be easier for me. Dallen will do this pose and then wait there for someone to lift him up to the basket.

Father's Day

Father's Day was a good day. Jeff is such a good Daddy. The boys adore him. Sometimes when Dallen isn't having a good day Ashton will say, " It's okay Dallen, Daddy comes back later." And the same goes if Ashton needs Daddy. He will ask me " Daddy comes back later?" It is a great comfort to all of us when Daddy comes home from work. Even though he is tired when he gets home he still saves me a takes care of the boys.
Daddy is so silly. He is always good for a laugh. Dallen loves to play and giggle with Daddy. Whenever it is Dallen turn, Ashton wants to do exactly what Dallen gets to do. Even if Daddy plays peek-a-boo with Dallen, Ashton will want a turn.
This year we surprised Daddy with a BBQ Grill. He was really surprised, and that is an accomplishment for me because I can never surprise him. That is the BBQ tool/cooking set he is looking at.
This is my Dad on Father's Day. He was taking a little snooze before lunch. Dallen crawled all over him and he didn't even budge. Grandpa is always good to take Ashton with him to change water, and Ashton loves helping him with the chores. Can you say Summer Job for the next 16 years. Happy Father's Day Dad.
This picture was a "Goodbye" picture from last summer, but it is perfect. Grandpa Jimmy always entertains. Whatever the kids want they get. Happy Father's Day Grandpa Jimmy. Thank you for your help in raising a wonderful Daddy and Husband. We are so grateful for you.

Kung Fu Panda

We took the boys to their first movie on Saturday. We tried to go to an early movie but they were sold out, can you believe that. So we went to the 7:10 show. I was a little worried about it being to late, but they actually did really well. Ashton loved it. He is really into "Boy Movies" lately. He loved the Kung Fu. They were so cute to watch. It really was a fun movie.

Tagged by Sally

I hope you all know how hard it is for me to think of answers to these questions. But it is kind of fun. I hope you all learn something new about me. Enjoy.

How To Play: Post these rules on your blog. List: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 random surprising facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the
end of your post by leaving their names. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog!

3 Joys:
1. Hanging out with all of my boys. They can always make me laugh, and they are so fun to play with.
2. Running/working out. I love the way I feel afterwards. It is such a stress reliever. (During is not always the greatest.)
3. I love it when Jeff sings to me. Whenever he sings at a function a few people always come up to me and say "Oh, your so lucky. Does he sing like that to you all the time?" I am happy to say yes he does. The best is when there are Mom's with single daughters that don't know he is married. They always ask him if he is.

3 Fears:
1. Dogs. It's not just a fear it's a phobia. I get anxiety if there is a dog that I don't know anywhere near me. It really is ridiculous.
2. Outside dark. I have to clarify because I'm not scared of the dark inside. I think I am more afraid of wild animals in the dark.
3. Usually I would have said needles, but after being pregnant with Dallen and the diabetes and everything I'm think that I am over it....so....I guess I will have to say Q-tips. (That one is just to tease Katie...but they can cause hearing loss.)

3 Goals:
1. Stop being a procrastinator.
2. Be a better Home-Maker.
3. Help my kids be as prepared for life as they can be.

3 Current Obsessions/Collections:
1. Getting my home and yard remodeling done.
2. I seem to have a good collection of children's toys going on at my house.
3. I also have a wonderful collection of mismatched socks. That one might be my favorite.

3 Random Surprising Facts About ME!!
1. I was a math club away from being a nerd in High School. I have all the qualifications: History club, FBLA, Yearbook, Newspaper, Science Club, Sterling Scholar, and I got an academic scholarship. Those of you that went to small schools will understand. And I wasn't in all those things at once, but most of them.
2. This one might actually surprise people I went to High School with, but I only kissed 3 people in High School. I went on a lot of dates, but I wasn't a loose kisser like some of you were, you know who you are.
3. After my first date with Jeff we didn't go out again for 2 months, even though I moved into his building and I was still hanging out with his friends. The surprising part is I actually chased him, a little bit, in my own way. I never chased. One night I came home from hot-tubbing with some friends and I just happened to be walking up right when he was getting to his house with a date. Back in the day I wore a two piece swim suit. Well I purposely put my towel around my waiste instead of up to my shoulders, scandalous I know. I asked him later after we were married for a while if he remembered that night, and I guess it worked because he did remember, and we went out again not long after that.

Yellowstone National Park

So that was our Memorial Day Weekend vacation. We had so much fun. The scenery was beautiful. The boys even had a great time. The weather didn't cooperate very much, but we were still able to do the things we wanted to do.
